Pastor LeRoy Lewis
LeRoy was born August 10, 1938 in St. Augustine, FL to Joseph and Nellie Lewis. LeRoy enlisted in the Army in 1957 and married his wife Charlotte the same year. He and Charlotte raised two daughters, Beverly and Peggy. Leroy was ordained as a deacon in 1962 at West Side baptist Church. He entered the gospel ministry and was presented with a license to the ministry in 1967. Leroy served as the Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church (now Turning Point at Calvary) until 1970 when he began attending the Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, FL. While attending the institute, LeRoy served as pastor at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (1972-1973) and Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church (1974-1975). After graduating from the institute, Leroy returned to Calvary Baptist Church as the Associate Pastor and Youth Director. In 1976 Pastor LeRoy Lewis was called to serve as pastor at the First Baptist Church of San Mateo where he served for 35 years. In 2011 Pastor Leroy stepped down as the full-time pastor at the First Baptist Church of San Mateo and joined Cross Road Community Church later that year. Pastor Tim has entrusted Pastor LeRoy with building and organizing the deacon ministry at Cross Road Community Church. Pastor LeRoy has stepped up to be the Interim Pastor because our beloved Pastor Tim has been called by God back to Turning Point at Calvary.
Pastor LeRoy desires for Cross Road Community Church to be "a striving, thriving, compassionate, loving and evangelistic fellowship who is Holding Forth the Word of Life (Philippians 2:16)."
"Praise God for the opportunity to serve Him and you (Galatians 2:20)."
